Extreme but controlled acceleration tests

The sample, from a few grams to several kilograms, is placed inside the “cargo”, a specially designed container we developed. It will then be subjected to sudden acceleration followed by gradual deceleration.

  • No damage to the sample other than that caused by the shock: the cargo is softly recovered

  • Control and repeatability: acceleration profile adjustable in terms of shock intensity and pulse width, with repeatability of ± 2 % for identical test configuration

State-of-the-art measurement for acceleration phenomena

We focus on developing and using specific measuring equipment in order to collect all the data needed for the most comprehensive and pertinent analysis of the shock experienced by the cargo:

  • Continuous velocity profile measurement using Doppler interferometry, to determine the acceleration profile
  • Measurement of the pressure applied to the cargo, processed to check the coherence of the acceleration profile
